DAILY DRIFTER: the hours

Ally R.Comment

Violence in the flowers where they found you

Can I wait the hours

Would it be untrue

Climb up to the tower

So that you can see

All across the hours"- BH

I found myself walking down North Williams the other day and even though it's still warm outside, you can feel summer starting to go into its deep annual slumber.

You can feel it in the air and in the sunlight and everything around you-- this waiting and tension that makes us so impatient for pumpkin spice lattes, cozy pullovers, and leaf pile rambling . We're all waiting for something. We're waiting for the kettle to whistle, or the bus to arrive, or a multitude of other events that could occur in an otherwise linear day. What are you waiting for?

DAILY DRIFTER: some things last a long time

Ally R.Comment

Historically, the photograph has been an interesting phenomenon. It is able to capture the very essence of people's souls and provides the ability to stop time just briefly. When time stops, we see a moment in the frame that conveys so much thought, meaning, and depth. Even in the digital era, the camera somehow captures the vitality of the soul. In this selection, we will see time stand still and how the subject of the portrait inhabits the frame, all the while reaching far outside the frame into our very hearts.

DAILY DRIFTER: Let's Pretend That It's Summer

Ally R.Comment

It's sunny and 78 degrees here in the good ole' town of Portland. I don't know about you guys, but I have Summer on the brain. Going to the coast, hiking in the hills, and hopefully a road trip to the desert are just some of the items on my agenda for the next few months. What do you guys have planned for your summer itinerary?
